In 1997, I began my digital career as a professional website producer. During my career I have been fortunate to work on large-scale websites and was exposed to all things marketing and technology. Andrew Goodman is Founder and President of Page Zero Media, a pioneering PPC agency that originally started in 1999 as a content site about “the portal wars” – Traffick.com – before PPC sprung to life in the form of Google AdWords Select in 2002. A few “real clients” showed up, and the learning curve kicked off.
Andrew continued writing, traveling, and speaking, meeting a motley crew of spammy SEO’s, bemused journalists, dot com startup promoters, and… mercifully, super-smart PPC marketers and Analytics gurus. What a rush!
Even exceeding Traffick.com’s expectations and fears, 20 years on, the digital monopolies (then, “portals”) have come to control increasing swaths of economic, social, and political life.
