The role builds strong relationships internally between the marketing team (direct reports & vendors) and key program areas of the Society: membership, publications, meetings, education, corporate programs, awards, and other departments. The role is knowledgeable about ECS program goals to develop marketing strategies and plans to attract audiences to relevant ECS products and services. The role is directly responsible for creating content, developing and implementing promotional campaigns, managing external vendors, project planning and execution, budget development and management, web design/maintenance, and campaign performance tracking/reporting. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develops and implements integrated marketing plans for key ECS products and services across traditional and digital channels, including inbound/outbound, web strategy and content marketing, paid digital, SEO, e-mail marketing, social media, print advertising, and direct mail. These plans may encompass marketing of membership, publications, meetings, education, corporate programs, awards, and other departments.
Conducts research and serves as a conduit for requisite market insight. Provides information to support the marketing goals and objectives for key ECS products and services.
Supervises two direct reports: Graphic Design & Print Product Manager and Digital Engagement & Marketing Specialist.
Manages contracted services from external vendors: biannual meeting photography/videography/streaming services, copyediting/copywriting services, design support, survey creation and analysis, market research, etc.
Prepares and manages marketing budgets for program areas in conjunction with department leads.
Regularly provides status reports to internal and volunteer leadership on marketing efforts and outreach.
Creates content to support print and digital marketing efforts.
Manages the user/customer journey experiences for ECS constituency groups within and across program areas.
Manages use and execution of ECS marketing channels and digital assets to increase engagement with ECS content and programs: Higher Logic Professional, ECS Website(s), Social Media, NetForum Cloud, etc.
Coordinates opportunities for cross-selling and cross-promoting between and among ECS products and services.
Collaborates with peers and across programs to ensure ECS brand integrity and opportunities are maximized.
Leads efforts to ensure the ECS brand is consistent and leveraged through execution and management of marketing efforts: print ads, digital ads, websites, collateral literature, signage, and other promotional initiatives.
Provides support for the ECS plenary and other various programs with direction from the Director of Community Engagement.

 POSITION RELATIONSHIPS

Internal : Reports to the Director of Community Engagement. Supervises the Graphic Design & Print Production Manager and Digital Engagement & Marketing Specialist and project-specific vendors, temporary/contract workers, and/or interns. Has frequent and critical contact with ECS staff to maintain marketing and communications efforts throughout the various programs and the organization.
External : Has regular contact with ECS constituents.
PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB

Education and/or experience: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, with 3-5 years of experience. Experience in a scientific society, association, or other nonprofit organization is preferred.
2-3 years’ experience in a supervisor role, managing workflows and/or cross-functional teams.
1-3 years’ experience with CRM platforms ( NetForum Enterprise/Cloud preferred ), marketing platforms ( Higher Logic Professional preferred ), websites ( WordPress preferred ) and their integrations.
Experience with creating and managing multiple user journeys and UX/UI.
Ability to demonstrate effective and efficient use of software: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Teams/Zoom.
Excellent verbal and written communication
Comfortable presenting to groups and the ability to work well with internal client groups.
