Job Description Summary: Under the direction of an administrator, assist departments, divisions and other College entities with advertising and publicity content development and marketing plans; oversee and provide work direction to contracted graphic designers; generate, maintain, and update electronic marquee messages; assist in the maintenance, updating and tracking of the departmental budget; train and provide work direction to student workers as assigned. Essential Duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Assist departments, divisions and other College entities with advertising and publicity content development and marketing plans, including coordinating the dissemination of catalogs, class schedules, and other information to outside agencies; 2. Review, update and submit media press releases, schedule and catalog covers, departmental brochures and annual reports; 3. Develop and draft preliminary project and media schedules, marketing strategic plans and events; 4. Research demographic information to assist with marketing strategies; 5. Generate drafts of advertising and promotional language and make advertising purchases; 6. Oversee media-related aspects including scheduling photo shoots, and maintain updated media lists; 7. Oversee and provide work direction to contracted graphic designers including addressing budgeting aspects, address print revisions, coordinate printings, and track advertising; 8. Communicate with advertising and media agencies to facilitate College partnerships; 9. Serve as a representative of the College at various community events; 10. Assist in the maintenance, updating and tracking of the departmental budget including generating and submitting purchase orders and receiving, coding, submitting and reconciling invoices using assigned databases; 11. Generate, maintain, and update electronic messages for College marquees, inclusive of maintaining compliance with College policies and procedures when advertising College events and activities; 12. Disburse and track loanable and rentable items in accordance with College policies and procedures; 13. Train and provide work direction to student workers as assigned; schedule meetings with assigned personnel; 14. Maintain branding standards and assist personnel with updated versions of College branding and marketing materials and logos; 15. Monitor, update and upload content to College social media sites; 16. Communicate with co-workers and external organizations and send emails to students related to College activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts and exchange information; 17. Perform clerical-related duties such as monitoring and ordering office supplies in keeping within the department budget; 18. Provide technical information and assistance regarding assigned functions, including the formulation and development of policies, procedures and programs related to assigned duties; 19. Coordinate and manage marketing photography and be responsible for the distribution and collection of photo release forms as necessary; 20. Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of the Colleges students, faculty, staff, and community. 21. Effectively engage and support historically disproportionately impacted groups by addressing issues of equity and improving culturally responsive service-oriented practices. 22. Education and Experience: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination equivalent to a Bachelors degree in advertising, marketing, or a related field and two years of marketing experience and use of graphic design principles and standards. Must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and employees, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices.
